OPTREX BLOODSHOT EYE DROP — RAPID REDNESS RELIEF

Optrex Bloodshot Eye Drops are a specialized ophthalmic solution designed to quickly clear redness and soothe eyes that have become bloodshot due to minor irritations. What Is Optrex Bloodshot Used For?

This formula is designed for occasional use to restore the natural white appearance of the eyes. It is particularly effective for:

  1. Minor Eye Irritation: Redness caused by dust, smoke, wind, or swimming pool chlorine.

  2. Environmental Stress: Soothing eyes strained by prolonged screen use or air conditioning.

  3. Bloodshot Appearance: Rapidly reducing the "tired" look associated with late nights or hay fever.

  4. Cosmetic Whitening: Providing a clear, bright appearance for special occasions or photography.

⚠️ Important Safety Warning

Narrow-Angle Glaucoma: Do not use if you have or are at risk for narrow-angle glaucoma, as Naphazoline can increase internal eye pressure. "Rebound" Redness: Do not use for more than 2 to 3 consecutive days. Overuse can cause the blood vessels to become "addicted" to the drop, leading to even more severe redness once you stop using it. Infection Masking: Redness can be a sign of a serious eye infection. If your eye is painful, your vision is blurred, or there is thick discharge (pus), stop use and see an ophthalmologist immediately. Contact Lenses: Remove lenses before use; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

How to Use

The standard dose is one or two drops in the affected eye(s) up to 4 times daily.

Application Technique:

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly.

  2. Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid.

  3. Apply the drop(s) into the pocket created. Do not touch the dropper tip to the eye or any surface to maintain sterility.

  4. Close your eye and press gently on the inner corner (near the nose) for 1 minute to keep the medicine in the eye.

  5. If using other eye medications, wait at least 15 minutes between applications.

Common Side Effects

Common side effects include a temporary stinging or burning sensation immediately after application. Some patients may notice slightly dilated pupils or a "watery" feeling. If you experience severe eye pain, headache, or a sudden change in vision, stop use and contact our pharmacist.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C, away from direct sunlight. Discard the bottle 28 days (4 weeks) after opening to ensure the solution remains sterile. Keep the cap tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Can I use this every day for my "Tired Eyes"?

A: No. This is for occasional relief. For daily dryness or tiredness, we recommend "Artificial Tears" (like Optrex Refreshing Eye Drops), which are preservative-free and safer for long-term use.

Q: Will it cure an "Eye Infection"?

A: No. It only removes the redness. It does not contain antibiotics. If you suspect an infection (yellow discharge or crusting), you may need a product like Cypmal or Chloramphenicol.

Q: Is it safe for children?

A: It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age unless specifically directed by an eye specialist.

Q: Why do my eyes look redder after I stop using it?

A: This is likely "rebound congestion." It happens when the drops are used for too many days in a row. Stop the drops and switch to simple lubricating drops for a few days to let your eyes recover.
